September 29, 2018 - McKay Wenger Ends 2018 Season with Victory at Macon; Wins UMP IL Region
Friday found McKay Wenger in action at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Illinois) for the Season Championship Night. Coming in 2nd in his heat behind Tim Luttrell, Wenger earned the 4th-starting position for the A-Main. Reeling in a podium finish, McKay posted a 2nd place spot behind Tommy Sheppard Jr. with Brian Lynn, Tim Luttrell, and Steve Stotler rounding out the Top-5.

1The following night at Macon Speedway (Macon, Illinois), McKay followed up the third fastest time in his qualifying group with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Tommy Sheppard Jr. Overtaking Sheppard Jr. for the lead on lap-18, Wenger held off Sheppard Jr. in the final two circuits to capture his fifth win of the season. Sheppard Jr., Tim Luttrell, Guy Taylor, and Tim Hancock Sr. completed the Top-5 finishers in the 20-lap affair. (Double J photo)

He was crowned the Illinois UMP Modified Champion.

September 22, 2018 - 2nd Place Finish at Macon Speedway
On Saturday evening McKay Wenger invaded Macon Speedway (Macon, Illinois) for the regular night of racing. Jumping up one spot in his heat, Wenger scored a 3rd place finish locking him into the 5th-starting position for the feature. Challenging Dave Crawley Jr. for top spot in the final laps, McKay came up short at the line to place 2nd behind Crawley Jr. with Tommy Sheppard Jr., Guy Taylor, and Mark Enk completing the Top-5 finishers.

September 2, 2018 - 8th Place Finish in Casey's Modified Nationals at FALS
McKay Wenger was one of 62 American Modified Series entries signed in at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) on Saturday evening for the Casey’s Modified Nationals. Holding his spot in his 8-lap heat, Wenger logged a 3rd place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top-2 to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Wenger cruised to a consolation victory positioning him 14th on the starting grid for the finale. Breaking into the Top-10, McKay Wenger passed six cars in the 50-lap affair to place 8th.

Sunday night brought Wenger to Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Illinois) for the $3,000 top prize. After coming in 2nd in his heat behind Mike Chasteen Jr., McKay scored an 8th place finish in the 50-lap feature.
