McKay Wenger tops FALS Cup field for first win of the season

On Friday night McKay Wenger ventured to 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) to compete with the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) for the 12th annual Slocum 50. With 35 cars registered in for action, Wenger followed up the fifth fastest time in his group with a second place finish in his heat behind Shannon Babb. Starting the $10,055-to-win A-Main in sixth, McKay experienced motor issues that forced him pitside on lap 36.

1Returning back to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on Saturday for another round of the FALS Cup, McKay came in fifth fastest overall before picking up an 8-lap heat race victory. Rolling off second for the main event, Wenger led wire-to-wire to capture his first win of the season over Mike Spatola, Ryan Unzicker, Jeffrey Ledford, and Allen Weisser. He earned a $2,500 payday for the triumph.
