McKay Wenger scores first win of 2022 at Farmer City
On Friday afternoon, McKay Wenger entered his Nutrien Ag Solutions No. 42 Late Model into battle at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the regular night of racing. Pulling off a clean sweep of the program, Wenger followed up the quickest lap in time trials with a heat race win and a feature victory. He bagged the $1,000 payday ahead of Kevin Weaver, Paul Parker, Mike Glasscock, and Curtis Roberts.
The following night, McKay joined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the $10,000-to-win program. In a stout field of 50 cars, Wenger timed in fourth-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat race. Rolling off 12th for the feature, McKay ran as high as sixth near the midway point of the 50-lapper but faded to eighth when the checkered flag flew.
