In a stout field of 42 Late Models, McKay missed a transfer spot by two cars in his heat, sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the opening night feature, Wenger logged a fifth-place outing.
For another $20,000-to-win A-Main on Tuesday, Wenger followed up the 12th-fastest time in his group with a fifth-place finish in his heat. Rolling off on the third row of his B-Main for one last shot at the Fever Heat 100 finale, McKay charged up to third early to contend for the final transfer spot but came up short at the line.
Back in action on Saturday, Wenger made the short trip to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) to pilot his Creative Kitchens & Bath No. 42 Late Model. After starting the night off with a heat race victory, McKay recorded a sixth-place finish in the feature.
