Fourth-place finish with MARS Championship Series at Farmer City
McKay Wenger kicked off his Labor Day weekend with the MARS Championship Series on Friday with a short trip to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the $5,000-to-win opener.
In a field of 27 cars, Wenger followed up the seventh-fastest qualifying effort with a third-place finish in his heat. Muscling into the top-five in the feature, McKay gained three spots in the 40-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Jason Feger, Shannon Babb, and Ryan Unzicker across the line with Kye Blight coming in fifth.
The weekend came to an early end on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) after electrical issues sidelined him in his heat.
