Wenger kicks off 2024 season with Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway
Debuting with the Curless Motorsports team and making his first start aboard a Longhorn Chassis entry, McKay Wenger was 45 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries amassed at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) over the weekend for the annual Illini 100.
On Friday, Wenger got caught behind a scramble on the drop of the green flag of his heat race that bent his fender into his right-front tire, forcing him to pull off. Using his B-Main as test session, McKay muscled forward three spots to finish 12th.
The following night, McKay backed up the 17th-fastest qualifying lap in his time trial group with a ninth-place outing in his heat. Needing to place second or better in his B-Main to make the $20,000-to-win Illini 100 finale, Wenger improved two spots in the 10-lapper, crossing the line in ninth.
