Wenger repeats at Farmer City Raceway
McKay Wenger got an early start to his race week with a trip to Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Tuesday for the fourth round of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
After pulling off on the fourth circuit of his heat race, Wenger nearly revived his chances of making the $5,000-to-win A-Main with an eighth-to-fourth showing in his B-Main. He missed a transfer spot by one car.
Seeking back-to-back victories on Friday at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), McKay followed up a runner-up heat finish with a fourth-to-first run in the feature. He led laps 10-25 en route to the $1,500 payday and his third win of the 2024 season.
Saturday’s visit to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) was spoiled by power steering issues after Wenger claimed the overall fast time honors and a flag-to-flag heat victory.
